Just closing our eyes and taking a moment to listen to the sounds around us calms the mind. We begin to discern, even in the silence, the tiniest noises. Initially, the mind may only focus on the more profound sounds, although subsequently, we begin to hear the more subtle sounds around us.
They each have their distinct flavor. A beautiful and meditative experience arises, sitting quietly and mentally observing the distinct and subtle sounds around us.
Breathing in and breathing out, a smile on the face, knowing we are one and connected with all existence. This universal relationship is the true harmony of human nature, and as we relax our mind and body, it embodies us.
We fill our inner spaces with love and compassion every time we pause and breathe, with awareness and wonder, listening to the discerning sounds: the sound of the wind, the rustling of tree leaves, the birds chirping, a stream trickling.
Even our stomachs growl as we sit quietly with meditative awareness. This is such a special place to be; it is where we are home.
Cheers!
